2019 Inaugural Holiday Luncheon and Fundraising Gala supporting JONAZ House

Join chamber member Vision Strategic Financial Group as they host their Inaugural Holiday Luncheon and Fundraising Gala supporting JONAZ House on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 11am to 3pm at the Arizona Broadway Theatre in Peoria. Federal and state political leaders, civic organizations, community leaders and many more are expected to be in attendance as this will be the event of the year to attend.  

The keynote speaker will be Brenda Combs, Ed.D., who is a two-time New York Times best selling author, Chief Executive of BRC Publishing, and business executive and personal motivator whose story fits the mold of both the mission of Vision Strategic Financial Group and the honoree JONAZ House.   Live music will also be provided by Morris Kelly and the Jazz Ensemble. 

If interested in purchasing a table of six seats,  you will be allowed one free full-page advertisement in black and white in the souvenir journal for the event.  Tickets for the event are $150.00 per person, $225.00 VIP package, $250.00 per couple, and $750.00 per table of six with full-page advertisement.

Luces de Navidad

The City of Tolleson would like to invite you, your family and friends to its annual Luces de Navidad Street Festival on Friday, December 13th and Saturday, December 14th. The street festival will be held on Van Buren Street between 91st and 94th Avenues. Admission is free for all activities. Food trucks and craft vendors will be on site.
This year’s event will feature live musical entertainment by local favorites Barrio Latino, New Frequency band and a special performance by J.R. Gomez Y Los Conjunto Bandits.
Our traditional light parade down Van Buren Street begins at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night.
Our Kids’ Zone will feature carnival rides, ice skating rink, face painting, holiday crafts, kids contests and pictures with Santa Claus.
Free Event Parking
Parking will be available at the northeast and southeast corners of 91st Avenue and Van Buren Street. ADA parking will be available at the southwest corner of 91st Avenue & Van Buren Street.

Dynamic Combative Solutions-AZ CCW 6hr Class (East Valley)

During this 6-hour non-shooting course we will review the basic components of legal Concealed Carry Weapons, mental awareness, interactions with law enforcement and how to properly plan for before and after a self-defense conflict. All necessary paperwork will be provided and your application and fingerprint cards will be completed during class. Following the completion of the course, you will be able to submit your completed packet to DPS for a Concealed Weapons Permit issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Dynamic Combative Solutions - Pistol Precision

This introductory course is designed around learning the fundamental skills behind shooting handguns both safely and accurately. The Pistol Precision course is designed for those who have been shooting for a while but need to learn how to be more accurate. Course instruction includes hands on dry-fire practice and live fire exercises designed to improve your shooting skills.
 

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Universal Firearm Safety
  • Grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger squeeze
  • Precision shooting techniques/ Diagnosing your target

Hometown Christmas Parade

The Hometown Christmas Parade is an old-fashioned community event for the whole family. Churches, businesses and other community groups from all over the valley are invited to participate and attend this very special parade. The parade will take place in downtown Glendale on Saturday, December 14th, starting at 11AM. The route begins at  51st Avenue and Glendale Avenue, then proceed west on Glendale to 58th Avenue.  

The Hometown Christmas Parade is produced by the non-profit organization Glendale Christmas Parade, which is made up of community members. There are many ways to get involved with this event: parade entry (float, singing group, etc.), volunteer, committee member, and community sponsor. 


The Hometown Christmas Parade supports Operation Santa Claus and also focuses on collecting non-perishable food items for Hope for Hunger, a Glendale based food bank. Hope for Hunger appreciates your support, especially around the holidays! Dynamic Combative Solutions - Holster Fundamentals

Holster Fundamentals builds upon the skills found in the Precision Pistol course. This course focuses on precision and speed from the holster. This course will teach you exercises to help you become proficient with drawing your handgun quickly and accurately place rounds on target. Our goal is to get you down to 1.5 seconds before end of class.

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Proper methods to draw from the holster
  • Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster
  • Multi-round shots & follow through
  • Appropriate sight picture at various target distances
  • Shooting under stress and follow through assessment

Litchfield Park Museum Holiday Open House

The Litchfield Park Historical Society Museum will have a Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 15th. Come see our latest exhibits: Stagecoaches to Spacecraft, which details the history of Goodyear and Avondale, and The Spanish Flu of 1918: A Pandemic’s Local Legacy, which examines the impact of this event in the Southwest Valley and in Arizona.
