Teen dating violence (TDV) is a type of intimate partner violence. It occurs between two people in a close relationship.
Roughly 1.5 million high school boys and girls in the U.S. admit to being intentionally hit or physically harmed in the last year by someone they are romantically involved with.
Teens who have been abused hesitate to seek help because they do not want to expose themselves or are unaware of the laws surrounding domestic violence.
Supporting the development of healthy, respectful, and nonviolent relationships have the potential to reduce the occurrence of TDV and prevent its harmful and long-lasting effects on individuals, their families, and the communities where they live. During the pre-teen and teen years, it is critical for youth to begin to learn the skills needed—such as effectively managing feelings and using healthy communication— to create and foster healthy relationships

Event sponsorship opportunities:
DeeCIlla Comfort Center is seeking local businesses that want to make a difference in the community and impact the lives of Youth and Young Adults. Organizations will have the opportunity to sponsor not only a Bay but also directly impact the life of 2-3 underserved yet deserving youth, who will become part of your team for the morning. This provides each youth with a unique opportunity for mentorship, encouragement, and empowerment as they learn first-hand the value of building healthy, meaningful relationships.
